Project: Chocolate Brand Packaging
This is class work
In this project, I designed an identity and integrated branding system for a new chocolate company with an assigned demographic. I needed to create a line of at least three products with an additional two products.
My demographic was tween goth girls. During my research, I looked at goth/punk fashion on tumblr and alternation fashion retail shops. I noticed trends of black with splashes of intense color, hints of Victorian motifs, morbid symbols, and playfulness.
I was inspired me to create a vector lace pattern based on the cacao plant which gave the "Joss" a more tropical, sugar skull-like appearance. I also wanted to add some cuteness and color to differentiate flavors, make the chocolate more appetizing and create a little pop. I ended up making sweet and brightly colored flavors/symbols for Joss to eat. When it came to fonts, I choose a friendly rounded sans serif font paired with a "old school" styled serif. I finished the goth-candy with gold foil. It makes the chocolate feel a little more expensive and reminds me a bit of pirates.
My final products are a line of chocolate bars, a tin of mints and a little box of hearts for your next Valentine.
Requirements:
- a line of at least three products
- two different additional products
- physical mockups
